Some days my loving wife just astonishes me. The weather has been crappy all day. I get off work and come home to a house that is warm. This sweet lady had gotten home and started the stove all on her own. I couldn't be happier.

She teases a lot about how can a grown man be so geeky and addicted to firewood and chainsaws. Honestly I have to blame my dad. He gave me my first saw at twelve and I still have it! He's 84 and still goes out and cuts with me. Everytime I learn something new. Thanks dad!:)

most wifeys only do that after hubbys puts things in motion..... You have to get the wood, cut, split, dry, and make it easily accessible, kudos to you from another wife!

I never could understand why some folks won't put wood in a stove or light a fire in one. That for sure can not be just a man's job. It does not take a lot of muscle....or brains.

That said, my wife used to be awful at starting fires. She still has some trouble from time to time but after we got some super cedars, it surely made it a lot easier for her. Now if I could just get her to put the wood in right.... But most times she does just fine. Shoot, I remember about 18 years ago when I spent a month in the hospital, in February. No water pipes froze. House was warm when I finally got home and boy did that wood heat feel great!
