Took a break from cutting today to set up the foundation for a proper wood shed. Using some rough cut scraps around and some cinder blocks I got the base set up, need some hardware to really get going but right now I have a good idea of what I'm going to do.

I can kinda imagine your plans.
Similar to what I did , concrete blocks in the ground & then corner posts for the roof. :)
Easy to add another section .

Dry findable wood is not overrated

Had to shovel out the spot first huh? :handshake: That's the dedication of a true Firewood Hoarder! Good beer choice too!

One thing though - maybe it's the pic but it doesn't look very level? Depending on the size, you might want some concrete in the ground below the frost line so it doesn't sink.

Should be pretty easy to tell where the frost line is at least! ;) :p Keep us posted! :ithappened:

Looking at that wet packy snow....well, I ain't missing it yet. One thing I liked about last year is that all the snow we got was the light and fluffy kind. Sure makes clearing the snow easier. And now you are shoving snow around to build a wood shed. Danged winter. Wish it at least was shorter.

The far left corner is about an inch higher than the other corners, I plan on fixing that tomorrow after work weather provided. Going to pick up some plastic sheeting and some screws to get a real start on it if I can, not sure if the hardware place is open at 7 AM.:D
Gets it far up over the flood plan, that is a really bad area for water during spring.

Each shovel load weighed quite a bit, but I was glad when it was finally done, I hate how it sticks to just about everything and makes it a soggy mess.

A neighbor gave me a spray can of teflon and swears by it. I gave the blade a good spraying but snow did not happen. We're still waiting for some that needs pushing around. I don't think we've had more than 1 1/2" on the ground at any one time so far this year. Maybe no white Christmas this year?

Hanging around here pretty good, six or seven inches, even though it's above freezing here. I've been laid up today though so no work got done around the house.:headbang:

A wet one here. Sounds like it is downhill from here. Yesterday afternoon I talked with my granddaughter in Omaha. She said the day started in the 50's and at the time of our conversation it was in the 30's with a wild wind. That is coming our way. 29 tonight and 33 tomorrow. 44 right now.

40's and some snow/rain here but it gets back below freezing by Friday here. I wish it would make up its mind, this on and off winter weather is making work difficult.
