By the way, Tom said they are still shooting for a price point on this stove around $2000. Someone at the event may have misquoted a price point of $1500 but that is incorrect.

My pleasure. It was a fun day. I wish we could have spent more time visiting and gathering more data and some video but we had to get back home this evening. My brother and oldest son were along and were ready to get on the road well before I was.

Brian, when do you plan on installing your new stove? Please keep us informed and send more of your great pictures concerning the install and the testing.

Based on the excitement leading up to this, Brian probably will not sleep until the stove is installed.

Actually I can't unload it till tomorrow when we have some extra help. I'm going to pull out the Fireview and put the Ideal Steel right in its place. I picked up the Supervent DSP doublewall stove pipe to the wall kit at Lowes this week so it's just a simple hook up. We opted for top vent and between the double wall pipe and the decreased clearances to combustibles on this stove compared to the Fireview we can actually put it deeper into the corner where we currently have the Fireview.

I will upload photos as soon as it's unloaded and unwrapped. I haven't even seen the finished design yet. It's still wrapped in cardboard and poly wrap on the skid in the pick up where it will have to spend the night. Hope nobody steals it.

15 years ago I would have had it done myself already. In fact I did move a kitchen wood cook stove by hand by myself back then, including on and off a trailer.

But after a couple herniated discs and a triple bypass you learn that prudence is the better part of valor.

It was great meeting Brian and Dennis yesterday heres a few pics that I took with some descriptions of whats happening.
    IMAG0373.jpg Washington Monument

    IMAG0374.jpg Woodstocks new stove

IMAG0375_BURST003.jpg This one is from Austria I dont remember the name I have the literature somewhere its a really neat design though it can be customized to whatever size you need and different colors. Its certified green by the Austrian government and all the stuff is made in Austria the only problem I had with it is the guy told me it would probably cost around $50000 US.

IMAG0376.jpg These little campstoves work off of twigs or pellets or whatever you set on fire in them and they generate enough electricity to charge a phone or turn on a small light. Its very compact and will burn for about 20 minutes on one load obviously longer as long as you keep adding stuff to it.

IMAG0379.jpg This is also made by the same people that make the camp stove but they dont sell this in the states its sold in Africa and India right now with plans to move to other developing countries. Its sold non profit for around $40 they are trying to get these cookstoves into the hands of people that only use wood to cook with these units are clean burning and a much safer and healthier alternative to the ways that people are cooking now.

There was a lot of stuff going on at the contest I arrived a little late and wasnt able to see everything but it was definitely a great opportunity and a good educational setting for people that are new to wood burning appliances or stuck in their ways of burning improperly.

The silver camp stove looks like a gasifier.

It bites about Dragon Heaters. Hopefully Matt can turn it all around.

I forget which stove it was but they had some problems with security on the plane and the stove got trashed before they got to the competition. My mind is still wheeling and I don't remember for sure but think they were able to get a replacement before the show. But that would be weird. What was TSA thinking? Some new bomb device?
