I'm sure my wife won't say anything if I spend my $1500 bonus on a big saw. Ok after taxes a medium sized saw.
This has been my motto since I was 11 or 12 years old - It's better to ask for forgiveness afterwards than permission first. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff,go for it.
Cool for you. My place of work did away with Christmas bonuses back in 89. If I had that kind of free $$$$ MS661.
Better make sure the wife hasn't already obligated it! I was a government employee for several years. No Christmas bonus for us. They wouldn't even hive you a cup of coffee. When I worked for a civilian hospital, they gave $15 bonus to each employee until the tax people got after them and told them the had to count it as wages and take taxes out of it. So they just stopped and didn't even give out a card. However, the both of them were right on out butts every year for money for the United Way and the combined federal campaign. There were times the civilian hospital said money was tight so the went a couple years with no raises, and declared no earned time during some periods.
