I once said something similar to this on another forum, and ignited a firestorm from the leftist love-fest group.......Im turning over a new leaf........Ive got rainbows coming out of my Azz now
I just loaded the hopper with the Okies Platinums. A couple of quick observations. The color was consistent, very light. The pellets are on the small side, A lot of pea sized pieces. I am not sure when I will get a good heat measurement from them since it looks like I will be in on/off mode for a few days.
Well, I kept the stove on low all night since it went into the 20's. These Fed at a rate of 2.9 lbs/hr heat was 146.1 average. My only comparison with this thermocouple is to minute man. Those Fed at 2.6 lbs/hr and heat was 142.1 Hopefully it will be a week or two before I have results for how long I can go without cleaning. I will also take more measurements but will only update if there is significant change.
The last three of my 15 bag test are in the hopper. The ash level on these is quite nice, I have 12 bags worth of ash in my pan and could probably push it through all 15. Vermont's I can go 14+ and I would say these are just as good on that front. A high quality pellet that performed to expectations IMHO.
I will add the person that I got these from thought they were dusty. He is a La Cretes guy, and he likes those a little more. My bags were not dusty.......
Here's some better pictures of what my Okie Platinums look like. First bag of the season just went in the hopper tonight. They are very small, mostly less than 1/2 inch. In the picture with three kinds of pellets, those are (top to bottom) Okie Golds, Okie Platinums, and Platinum Pellets.
