    A stock MS 361 should pull a 8 pin rim with a 16 inch bar shouldn't it?

Do you believe it will pull it with AUTHORITY or just pull it.

Not sure how you define authority. Just give it a try and decide for yourself.

Thanks for the quick answers. They are cheap so I believe I will have to try.

Don't want to say this to Sunfish, but my buddy wants to race his 346xp and I want every edge I can get. Any thing else I can do without muffler mod or porting? Just hoping on sharp chain and chain speed.

I already beat him once but he said something about a rematch and I just want to be ready and be as fast as I can.

If your friend is using .325 pitch on his 346xp you should not be concerned IMO

I would stick with 7pin on your 361

Actually, it's one of the few pieces of OPE that can be made more productive by modifications.

Cheaper than racing anything with wheels anyway.

If it was at Matt's last month, I was running my first square filed chain on the 346xp and it was slower than it usually is.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...;)

It was not at Matt's. It was just a guy I work with and we are always giving each other heck about one thing or another. He says one day that his Husqvarna would cut circles around my Stihl, so I said let's do it. I beat him but he is always saying I cheated and he wants a rematch. I always tell him any time. We have a lot of fun giving each other heck but I still do not want to lose.

I would never modify a chainsaw. That's stupid.
