Hello all, I'm new to this site, but not wood burning, been heating the house for 14 years with nothing but wood. Thought I'd post a pic of what a truck driv'n wood addict does on vacation. About 2 cords there. This seems to be an interesting place, glad I found it. 009.JPG

Welcome to FHC. :) Nice setup you have there, good saw and a nice splitter, gotta say I'm jealous. And you have a pretty good hoard of firewood going on there, you'll fit in just fine with this crowd.:tree::rofl:

That's a good motto. Keeps it shiny and keeps it out of the elements away from corrosive rain and snow.

    Similar to wood
Keep it dry & top covered, will last many years & be ready when needed :)

    Welcome
    Nice set up:
using the splitter in the right mode too (vertical is the only way to split wood )

    Welcome to the forum Driver.

You certainly must know what you are doing. It shows by the way you have the splitter set up (vertical) and looks like you have a great saw too.

I would highly suggest you get that nice looking wood pile covered on the top. It definitely helps the wood. And most certainly in your area because it seems like that area is constantly getting rain and rain and more rain. Well, occasionally some snow too; hopefully not much ice.

I'm not sure what Stinny's talking about though.
No fun here. Nope, none at all. :D

Thanks, you guys are right on with the vertical splitting, much easier on the old back plus you can pull up a round and have a seat while working. Gonna try to pick up some rubber roofing or tarps to git r top covered used up everything I had on hand on my stacks at the house.

Driver , welcome to the forum. Do you have a milk crate to help split your wood vertical?
Do you ever split horizontal? (the back saving way) :)

Just so you know Driver, look at the picture below and you'll see why the guys tease me about the milk crate. Hey, it works great!
