I'm thinking about a 16" bar for the MS 441 but I'm wondering if it's too short for good balance or too short for the power of the MS 441. Any thoughts or sharing your experience would be appreciated. Thanks Team!
Since I bought the 660 I've been using a 20' bar, down from a 25". I've got a 16" on my older 455 Rancher, it ain't great but it's better than the 20" on the 455. The reason for thinking 16" on the 441 is a friend is playing Godfather and "making me an offer I can't refuse" on his almost new 461. I'd sell the 455 to help pay for the 461.
A 70 cc saw with 16" bar makes a smoking machine. MS 460 10" Cant cut: This isn't a 441, but the 460 is a close enough comparison.

I cut firewood as a bushiness for 10 years before finding the internet with a 365 and 372 with an 18", which was the same size/weight/power/class as the 441. It was a good balance for useful production work. I also ran a 13" on my 5100 saw for years too. 16" on a 372 or 440 does make the nose light and most times cutting I found that I needed an 18" for versatility. Now-adays I run a 20" on the 70cc saws, 15-16" on the 50cc saws. 16" on a larger saw does make for some fun cutting.
