OK, you got me there. But once again, if I want a saw I just buy it. I am long past the point of "need it". I was at the saw shop all day yesterday being tutored on saw rebuilding by the owner. We pressed out the bearings, got the new bearings and seals in and tank installed with all new mounts. The cylinder is now going to be decked and ported. I figured we better get all we can out of it as it is only a 288 XP Lite.
OK I'll bite. The silver on the present XP's does not wear well at all. The orange paint will hold up much better.
Man I wish I had someone to tutor me That's awesome by the way that you are picking up all that info!
The guy is really cool and is a Husky dealer. The day I met him I took in two saws. One was a Makita 6401 I bought from Bailey's but it never had any dealer set up and I was concerned the high speed might be a little lean. He richened it up, checked it over and tuned my Stihl 028 Super that had just been ported. When he got done he would not take a dime for it. Ever have a Stihl dealer do something like that?
There is a 555 over on AS ported by Brad thats brand new that he wants only his cost in the saw minus the port job he threw in. Heck of a deal
Wow!! Great deal man. Once in a lifetime deal gave up there. He and Randy both are good people that helped me out a bunch
