I'm not talking to anybody specifically, just that some folks are posting specs and prices, and that's not what Cut4Fun is asking here. We all know the 545 is a great deal next to the 550XP, but we just want to know which one looks purdy-est.
I bet most guys liking the silver is 20something to 30something age brackets. With only 6 being here and at my older group on CRS O for silver and over 20+ from both sites on orange.
Have run both the 550 and the 545, made my decision and went with a Stihl. Like the looks of the 550, like the price of the 545 even better. Thought the silver looked good way back when they intro'd it on the 562XP.
Who derailed now? If you would of went with the Husqvarna your chain test would show 3/8" the fastest.
I have both these saws. Never any problems except more gas and oil and sharpening the chains. If I might add, I run 16" bars and Stihl 3/8" RS chain on both. I use the saws for limbing.
Send me one and we'll give 'er a shot. Gonna re-run the test anyways now that the 261 is feeling friskier.
I like the Orange, from the first pics it looks like the silver is painted plastic-- which I like in action figures, but here it just looks cheap to me.
That was proven at the GTG. The 3/8" was far faster on several saws. The best was Teds 550.. But it is a beast!!
Thank you.. i've been screaming that for years... so many people running .325, NK this and LP that.. screw that. I want a saw that runs the same chain off the reel as the rest of my fleet. now I'm just trying to figure out how to mount a K095 bar on the 540xp... lol
I got a muffler modded one. If you were closer we could get them together and see how it stacks up against the 261.
