Can I dump ash pan into rubbermaid full of water?

    It's cooling down fast here and I need to clean the stove and empty the ash pan that caught on fire.

    I called Drolet, they said it will be safe if I stay below the top two settings.

    But its VERY windy here, I worry the ash pan still has some hot ones in it so I can't take it outside.

    The ashes will float, & possibly melt the sides touching the floating hot ashes.

    If you can quickly mix it in the water , that will work

    Thanks Dave!! I already did it. Worked well. They were still hot, steamed some water on initial dump! Its a slurry now, plenty of water!

    Put a metal bucket on your "to buy list"
    One with a lid would be nice :)

    Maybe dig a hole outside to give you a place to dump it (or set it in ) & put a metal cover over it.

    :yes: on the metal bucket, lid a must !!

    My husband has a hole, out there somewhere........ I've never paid attention to where :emb:. Too cold and windy for me, I think it would have blown away into dead dry prairie grass before I got there.... Thankfully he rarely travels......

    I dump them into a cardboard pizza box on my porch......manual doesn't say not to......;)

    Just tie off the metal can & bungee the lid
    The strong wind storms here love trash cans.
    The Wyoming plains, has strong winds, 45 mph is just a breezy day :)

    Yeah I will tell ya the lid fits on there pretty tight as it is, but then when you lock it down with the handle its not coming off.
    I'd like to throw one out the car window at 50 miles an hour and see what happens, I bet the lid won't come off :rofl: :lol:

    We bought a fixer upper house. The "enclosed porch" believe it or not had unassembled pizza boxes stapled to the studs!! :rofl: :lol: I am serious.

    I like to use pure grain alcohol to put out the ashes, which happens to be next to my stash of fireworks. If I did not read it in the manual then it is ok!!!:banana:
