The oiler quit on me this weekend thought it was all over, parts for these are getting to be unobtainium.
Figured I stripped out the bevel gear, I've had this saw for thirty years still my favorite.
So pulled her down today the pump was full of what seemed like hard plastic granules, there was no problem with the screen. I am guessing its just crystalized oil built up over the years. she mostly gets used only on the big rounds. cleaned her out put her all back together. Had to dial back the adjustment it was pumping like an oil well!

4200,5200 & 6000S (100cc beast actually made by Sachs Dolmar 1978-81) are on my want list - be nice companions to Dad's 1981 3400 Countervibe that we used all those years ago.... I still use it in fact - it was basically ''retired'' in 2002 ish,sat until 2012 then rebuilt/retuned the carb, new fuel/impulse lines & filter.

Its a screaming beast now, went through 18-20" Shagbark in July like nobody's business!! :saw::dex:

    Nice full load

"Don't mind the mule , load the wagon "
    :)

Had some junk get in my oil pump too.
    watery , gummy looking stuff,
    Cleaned it out, working fine.
I pay a little more attention to the oil, oil jug & dirt around the fill cap now.
+ I put it on my annual maintenance list to clean the oil pump

Poulan 5500s which is a dolmar 143 in green. At least that's what I thought it was. Never pulled the jug to check. The 6000s was the 100cc 153. Both identical saws except one was 90 and one was 100. The S stands for Sachs as in Sachs-Dolmar as it was back then. I sold it last winter when I was broke... :(
