My wife just texted me these pictures. A Hickory in our backyard blew over and hit my scraper blade. Luckily it missed hitting the camper by about 10 feet.
Heard there was some frontal activity coming our way in the next several days.....thankfully neither you nor your lovely wife was near that thing when it fell.... The tree appears rotten, hopefully not because that is primo firewood!
I have been meaning to take that tree down for the last two years I checked it this fall and it still seemed as solid as could be where I was checking so I am wondering if it was just a little rotten at the base where it snapped off? Wont take long to figure it out tonight
Glad it missed the camper. Looks like your blade is holding it up nice, ready to get bucked No chains in the dirt
Hope your blade is ok. We're getting some big gusts here too. Hoping ma nature does me a solid and shakes loose a few leaners for me too! She must have thought that dual axle looked bored...
From the picture the blade doesn't look any worse for the wear and it makes a good sawhorse. You're good to go! We've got 40+ mph winds no but nothing down on my land....yet.
Ma nature's got some pretty good aim. I don't know if even Scotty could've dropped it on that blade all nice & ready to be bucked up. Glad nothing appears to be damaged.
Glad everyone is safe..some more free gooder wood for you . Looks like some snow headed my way for Wednesday
Nice firewood! Love the shade, hate the risk, Prune the tops or make firewood Many years ago , After a tree came thru the garage, I made firewood out of any thing in range of the house . Here, birch are surface rooted, any construction near them weakens them. I lost several in wind storms,
I'm betting by tomorrow there will be lots more trees down and not from sawing them down either. That wind is even noisy out there.
Man I'm not sure what it's up to know but my greenhouse roof almost took flight and I had it anchored good...... Cert I love the new use for the plow blade! Your a real hoarder planning out where the wind would put that tree! I hope the blades ok..
My parents were in their camper this summer when a storm broke a "branch" off a cottonwood and landed it across their bedroom. Nobody got hurt but it was close. Branch was bigger that most trees, it was 2 foot at the base. They now have a different camper.
Free heat. (Minus the gas money.) (Minus the labor.) (Minus the time.) That's right. Glad you have some heat and everyone is safe man.
Ha ! that's all I got, that I see in the woods, is 1 small poplar down Nice chunk of hickory mother nature gave you there Certified, looks like no damage , all ready to buck up ,pretty good deal
I hope the blade is okay, those Mother Nature felled trees can be tough, if you have any questions, call!
