So glad you kept the windows. I wish I had some like that so I could sit and look out side. Really like the new walls. That rim will set it off. There are no end to projects!

I've never had a home where historical preservation was encouraged, but I have always admired white trim, its bright and cheery.
Painting is finished up, just need to hang the fan and put up base and crown. My wife painted the floors tonight. Looking good so far.
Very Nice Swags! Same thing in my house, restoring an 1880's victorian farmhouse while we live there...and this will be the last time this happens. Room by room, year by year. Oh, what! 6 years later and only 2 rooms to go!
I hired out electrical, I'm allergic to electric. Gets me every time. Will be having plumbing done in the next room by someone too. I don't want to take a chance and mess up water running through the walls.
Finished the crown moulding. Still need to figure out exactly what to do with either crown or a stone piece up top. Problem is the previous owner ran the new ceiling IP to the existing plaster which was over the brick. So I have a gap from the stone to ceiling I need to cover.

Like the crown moulding. Those end caps sure take the awkwardness away from cutting corners. I hope you use a wide baseboard. My grandmothers house was a federal and was rich in moulding all painted white. I think she had 10 ft. ceilings.
For the top, can your wife make a nice sign with a nice quote to put up there? Or a double bit axe fastened to a piece of barn board hanging between the plinths? a small, old bucking saw hanging across on a barn board? I could go on, I just think of things like this. Something old, a metal rusty, crusty woods or farm implement would be cool. An old rifle would look nice, but the heat may not be nice to it.
That looks awesome... How did you finish the edge where the drywall meets the stone?? I've lived with mine looking like crap for 20 years because I can't figure out how to trim t out.
