I just put a orange clutch cover on my NE 346xp, looks much better! The old silver one went on a 359 I'm building...It's goin to be the bad-azz ugly big sister!
Yep all orange like all real huskys used to be. Then someone bumped their freaking head and put wash off silver on them like a Nike looking tennis shoe.
Am I the only one that thinks the silver actually looks good on the Huskies, at least when they are new?
I have a muffler modded 550xp and the thing rips. It handles well and If I ever get used to installing the bar on a saw with an outboard clutch ill be happy as a dead pig in the sunshine.
its easier than most make it out to be... put the chain over the sprocket... install bar, put chain in the bar grooves, install side cover, spin chain to make sure its in the rim sprocket and then tighten chain. No different, just most people are used to installing the chain and bar as one...
Yes Dustin, yours runs great man! The out board clutch is absolutely no problem, once ya get used to it.
Since 1977 I've only owned one saw with a inboard clutch and it was a Husky 365. Only had a couple years.
I have a 550xp and a new 545. Id say the 545 was a better deal for the power. The 550 xp has a little more high rev power... And is the most impressive stock 50cc saw i have ever ran. But the 545 is so close in power... And at least $100 less. Im very happy with the 545.... And would highly recommend it over the 550xp.
Can you get it set up with a 20" x 3/8 x .050 ? & Will it run that size ok? (Several new chains are all that size.)
No, you are not. I like it too, although as one AS lumberjack member said awhile back "this ain't no beauty contest out there".
I don't know of any saws that earn somebody a living that would win a beauty contest. We chainsaw enthusiasts and firewood cutters as a group are generally very kind to our equipment.
