So my wife and I filled the trailer today and put it back on the porch for winter duty. I have to say this is the most wood I have ever had on that trailer: it is hard to see in the photo but the axle has quite a bow to it, the wheels have a lot of camber because of the bow, and both tires are pretty flatted at the bottom. There was enough tongue weight that I could not use the tongue jack to bear the weight- it twisted the tongue stem a pretty scary amount so instead I used a couple of splits to bear the forward weight.

A louse photo of the axle, wheels and tires under the load:

The full trailer on the porch- it took a lot of grunt from the Envoy in 4X4 LR to get it up there:

Yikes that's a pretty light weight axle for that much wood.

You might want to jack it up and put it on blocks instead of leaving the weight on that axle and tires.

This isnt a bad idea unless that'll get emptied quick. No use in damaging the trailer

I don't know. It is a SnowBear utility trailer and was rated at something like 2,650 lbs. gross but that is going by memory. Certainly the trailer is overloaded but not by all that much IMO, and it is not traveling with that weight in it. Besides, I have a sophisticated plan on slow reducing the weight on the trailer.... why just today I took three splits off the trailer- see, lighter already :)

I hope that axle isn't permanently bent. that's a small axle and those tires are only rated around 800llbs.. that's a jet ski axle and tires! I would not leave it like that for long or your wood hauler might need some rehab!
