Wood have you burned so far this season?? I'm probably approaching 1/3 cord burned so far. Been burning since the first few days of Nov. It's in the mid '40's here now and tomorrow is supposed to be 50*+..................I'm back to the chunks and uglies as I don't need a huge amount of heat. I may not need the stove at all during the day tomorrow. Got some relatives staying the night on this coming Tuesday. They're in for the holiday. I've told them that I've NOT turned the furnace on yet!!! I'm trying to scare them away!!!!
Ive burned a little under 1/3 cord of pine and about a wheelbarrow full of little chunks and some uglies. Its supposed to get back into the 60s and 70s next week so the stove will go cold for a few days.
I'm probably up to 2/3 of a cord. We've been burning all month, (as a reward for someone learning how to CLOSE THE DXMN DOOR!) but it's mostly been dry punky stuff and uglies. You know, shoulder stuff. Just letting coals burn down today. Temps in the 50s.
I burned around 1/2 cord. Been burning at night since October so I can keep the kids warm. Weather suppose to go up to the mid 60's
Well, we started in mid-Sept., and have burned 1/2 cord of Pine, and not quite the same of soft Maple, with a little bit of Oak on the colder nights (like below 10). Fairly close to what I planned....so far. Ma nature may have plans to interrupt my plans.
I'm probably just over 1\3 cord... But I know those 9 days or so I could watch those levels just go down and down.
'bout 1/2 cord here. So about a 1/2 more than planned since I usually hope to not light the stove much before Thanksgiving. It is definitely not looking like a light wood usage winter, again.
About 1/2 a cord here (maybe a tad under), mostly red maple w/ a little bit of Norway Maple thrown in. I put 2 small oak splits in tonight for kicks, but saving the rest of the hotter stuff for winter!
This cold snap put a pretty good dent in the soft maple on the porch. The first row is almost gone; another week like we just had and it will be. Little over 1/3 cord each row. I was burning poplar before that, since October; went through probably 1/3 cord of that too. Looks like the cold is going to let up a bit next week, so I think I'll switch back to shoulder mode - load of poplar here and there.
I guess I'm the only one that will admit to 1 cord.. that's about what I've used, mostly maple, some cherry and ash that was left from last year. been burning since mid october as I don't want my oil furnace kicking on. going to be a long winter, as I only had 3.5 cord ready to burn and I normally burn 4.5ish.... I really hate to buy wood for this winter, but I have a full oil tank and saving the good oak for the cold days ahead.
