A couple of days ago I filled a doe tag with my muzzleloader in an area I like to hunt.After the drag up my son and I went into an uncharted area an old cedar swamp found a nice bedding area.Yesterday about noon went and sleded out some apples near my sons stand and a few carved pumpkins took my black powder rifle with me.I decided to go stalking in the swamp while making my way over came across some fresh traks and started my stalk ended up about a little more than half a mile in got within 60 yards of this buck only had a window for a shot seen he had an antler only one antler had 3 points so I knew it was legal with our new rules.I got a shot at the front shoulder and when the smoke cleared dint see anything reloaded and proceded towards area found the shot dropped him in his traks.
Two yeare ago I shot a small buck. He stopped at a scrape right under my stand. Good shot on him...double lungs. He ran about 20 yards and fell down...got up and ran another 10 steps and fell down a damm near vertical ravine. He broke off an antler on the way down. Me and my BIL hauled his sorry azz back up it. I almost puked I was so gassed. He tasted good tbough.
yeah v2 threw a leupold ultimate slam on it loaded up with 100 grains of blackhorn and a hornady sst gun is very accurate
I love it got my son the optima his gun likes the same load also.Blackhon makes a breechplug for them which helps for loose powder
I have been shooting with the blackhorn for 3 years started out with the pellets.The blackhorn is easier to clean and more accurate won't use anything elseI have tried alot of different loads but and Blackorn is the Bomb
