Hoot, how old is your P-61? And did the second auger look like the original?

This is my third winter with it. And the second one was like the original. He gave me the old style auger which is on the left in that pic.

Well, in the pic they're one above the other. I'm assuming the one with the blackened end is the original.

That's correct sub subsailer. The first auger he gave me was the one on top in Kinsmans pic.

If you pour a can of bacon grease into the pellets, the squealing will stop....... Pook, where are you????

Alls well and good. Freezing today. I hate going to the van to get tools.

Stove was off for a while today with outside temps in the 50's. Took the opportunity to chip the carbon out of my burn pot. The buildup was the worst I've seen after a week of burning. When the stove restarted, I had an intermittent squeal during the first 2 extended feeds during startup. I'm thinking that maybe a piece of carbon got stuck in the end of the auger. Once the stove started it's normal feed cycles it went away. First squeal I've ever had with this stove.

Hopefully it's the last. Annoying as all he'll.

It was nice out today, but a little chilly now. Stove just kicked on.

Mine wasn't bad, not very loud or long.

Great day today but down to 30 now.

We got a little kindness today, but winter is just around the corner. Spent a couple hrs outside while my son was here cutting up some wood taken down last winter.
My stove squeals right after I give it a good cleaning, but that stops as soon as it heats back up.

Auger squeal is common until the carbon burns off, that was why I was surprised that Hoot needed to replace the auger. Usually a good cleaning around the end of the chute with a screwdriver takes care of it.

She's running great now, and just in time. Next week is looking like winter is coming in for good.

I thought it was going to be nice most of the week. I guess I better look at the forecast.

Maybe I should be checking the forecast. They changed it on me. Mid 40's this week, can still paint outside. Maybe I will get my outside work done.
