Thought this might be fun. For me, #5 was the toughest to figure out.

    1. Queen
    2. The Beatles
    3. Tom Waits
    4. David Bowie
    5. Nick Cave and the Bad Seess

Also rans: Alice Cooper (the solo artist), Pink Floyd (Roger Waters era), Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Mott the Hoople.

The Grateful Dead are my favorite (hence my screen name) and then there are about 100 other artists I also love.

Didn't realize we had Deadheads on board.

There are several references to Jack Straw; one going back to 1381. I just assumed one of them was the reason for the screen name.

I was coming home from work when I heard that Jerry had died. I got home, popped American Beauty into the CD player and set it to loop Ripple/Brokedown Palace. Had it running like that till I went to bed.

But where do you go from there? A few of my other favorites in no particular order: Yes, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra, Jethro Tull, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Allman Brothers, The Band, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, America, Harry Chapin, Neil Diamond, Simon&Garfunkel, Billy Joel, U2, REM, Acoustic Alchemy. The list could go on and on.

So far, with 12 posts, it appears we're all from the same musical generation.
