Had to light the second stove.

    Today's high barely hit 30, tonight should be in the high teens. Northwest wind at a constant 20 knots gusting to 35. Don't need it right now but by midnight I will so I started the downstairs stove. It is an old wood/coal stove. This is going to be a short freeze so I'll burn wood in it. For extended cold snaps I use coal. Costs more than wood but it easily goes 12-18 hours between needing to be tended to.

    Two are enough. I like having two stoves run gently rather than one burning hard. If I push both stoves I can get this house into the high 80s no matter how cold it gets outside.

    Really wish I had a second wood stove or even a pellet stove in our living room today. Temps are low. Every time the dang furnace comes on I cringe.
