Not sure what the weather is doing in the Yukon
I bet the late Sept & October cold temps shut them down & froze stuff up solid till Spring.
Lake behind the house is still froze ( glad I don't get "Lake effect " from it LOL )
Heavy rain all around our area for 2 days, the rain shadow (down sloping) has kept us pretty dry, couple sprinkles about all so far.

 

Long range forecast for mid 30°s daytime. (short daytime now though)
& in the mid 20°s at night.
Dry & fire danger now, the tall dead grass would burn hot & fast with the 20+ MPH winds.
