    Once the river freezes, there is a place down the road that has smelt shanties rented out by the hour. I think more beer cans come out of there than smelts. :drunk:

    I might fish out of a shanty(Beer fridge-color telly-hot food-wood heat- sitting on a sofa) would be a nice fishin day! Just like my usually winter day(Sitting on the sofa watching the fishing shows on the telly). I could do that! :drunk:

    Those 500cc bikes were sure the thing of their day, a mean bike in the early 70s. Here is one of me on my 500 Kawasaki, 8" extended front end. I was CSS'n way back then too with the same monster maul!

    Oh yeah.. you and I are very similar age I'm sure. Graduated HS in 68. That's a sweeet scooter.. man these new ones are fast and all that, but they don't have the class the old ones did. Just like the cars I guess.

    Sorry for the thread hijack! We should prolly go talk bikes at the bar. :drunk:

    Sorry for hopping on your thread Old Seasoned, I came in at the end and saw bikes ............... and jumped on in. Reposted over on the bike thread! They are predicting snow on the 12th here, but warming up again afterwards, 51-52 by the 17-18th!

    Big artic blast in the Midwest almost here - it'll be moving east in a day or two....

    47 when I woke up today,44 now,31 by 1PM with a dusting to 1/2" SNOW arriving.By 5PM temps down to 25 with bitter wind chills & lows tomorrow morning 15-17 degrees.Expected 8 to 12 degrees for the same in northern Iowa...We may hit 32 tomorrow if we're lucky....then back to upper 40's by Friday.

    Looks like I'll be throwing on a chunk or two of that 15 month old Honey Locust & 2yr+ dead White Oak tomorrow morning....:cool: :axe::thumbs:

    That artic blast (lows in the teens) just fight freeze the ground, so I dug the last of the potatoes. Wasn't much, but hey, they were there so they are better in my stew than rotting in the ground.

    The weather for our area will be in the mid 40's by the end of the week, not much for snow in the month of November.

    Last year we had our first real snow at the end of December if I recall, 20 inches in one night.
