Looks almost like someone left the solder in there after checking squish. Looks like some sort of Husqvarna but the piston is not Mahle.

I was thinking maybe a welch plug out of the carb until I saw the pic with all of the chunks.

    Can someone explain "squish" please?

If you say so, I'll cover the bill. Don't believe I eliminated the gasket since it appears to be there. Send me the bill!

Squish is the distance from the top of the chamber to top of piston. Commonly measured with soft solder and calipers.

Not test running a saw before you sold it?

    How much is that worth?

I don't know how to charge for these things.

    We all make mistakes.

It's probably best if I stay away from here.

I have nothing good or wholesome to say or contribute at the moment.

If I made a mistake and did not catch it, it is my responsibility! Steven should not have to pay for a mistake I obviously made, so complete the work Steven sent it to you for and send me the bill not Steven.

Randy, I'm trying to do the right thing here. I'm sorry that you feel the way you do, however I sold Steven the saw and no matter who he takes it to, to correct my mistake it is still my responsbility to do right by Steven.

    You are missing the point.

No way in hell that solder survived a test run.My issue here is that you sold a friend of mine a "great running saw" that was never even tested.

I'm porting the saw......I don't need anything from you.

Well, if that is the way you feel so be it, however I think the decision of who pays is up to Steven.

    Again.

You are completely missing the point.

    It's not about money.

Steven is a dear friend to me.......and twice now you've taken advantage of him. That sort of thing might be commonplace where you are from......but here in the hills of Tennessee......it's frowned on.
