Bar size & chain type ?
Let us know how yo like the retained bar nuts.
Not sure if that's a good feature or not ?

The 550 is the first saw I had that had them...I've had it a tad over two years now. If you do a lot of cutting, and change chains in the field, its a great feature... they don't go anywhere and start easily. Its really nice on the 540 if you would ever have to change a chain in the air and not have to worry about dropping the bar nuts.

    Yea, good points
Do they make the cover harder to clean the junk off of it ?
    No trouble cross treading?
Can you start them with your fingers.?
Any trouble getting them lined up on a dirty saw?

No issues. No cross threading. No issues with fitment. I could snap some pics if you'd like but don't want to derail the thread. They don't impede getting the cover back on at all. I like them and wish all saws had them. One less thing to drop/lose.

My 3 year old 562xp has the captive bar nuts. They work fine, but so do regular bar nuts on my older saw. It's just a non-issue either way for me. Actually I've never given it any thought...

I ran the new saw today for a hour cutting some small pine . AND I LIKED IT !!
I only ran it about half throttle for brake in . The book said to take it easy the first 10 hours . I think the 2152 is all I need for now . Thanks again to every one for helping me pick this saw . And thanks to Bob at Ashokan Turf & Timber .

Do not run the saw at half throttle in the cut. You can damage the saw doing that as the carb is meant to provide fuel (and oil) at WOT only. carbs on saws work at an idle circuit and wide open, not in-between like a car with a gas pedal. you could lean it out running it part throttle in the cut. taking it easy means not to free rev it out of the wood at WOT.

Yep. Freakingstang is correct. Run at full throttle and keep the chain sharp. A dull chain will overrev/overwork/overheat a saw.

Also the AutoTune on the saw will only make adjustments at wide open throttle in the cut if I understand the system correctly.

Run it much like you would normally, I would only avoid long wide open sessions with no load or other high rev activities like limbing.
