Yep. Now that the temps are peaking in the low to mid 40's there's a fire 24/7.

24/7 here. Pellets. With an automatic stove. Just as safe as the oil burner.

Difficult to answer yes or no
I lit mine in October, been a fire in it ever since.
I add wood at night around 9 PM. Usually good to noon ±.

Got so confused with so many options,
started sweating over the correct answer.
    Is this a test ?

I voted "yes, so it's warm when I get back"
    But "No" would've fit too.
Most closely correct for me ? ?
    Now I'm nervous,
    Hope I passed

I think a high percentage of us participating on a wood burning forum would burn pretty seriously (read: 24/7). The more casual, occasional wood burning folk probably would not spend the time to come here in the first place.

My boiler is shut off and has been for years. Wood is my only source of heat and is used from Sep. / Oct. to May and the occasional 'take the chill off on a cool night' fire even into June. And like many here, from later fall to mid- spring, my stove will not go out at all.

The simple answer is I trust the stove and don't feel I have to babysit it once it gets going, whether I'm leaving the house for the day or going to sleep at night. Of course if I'm leaving the house and it looks like it will be a warmer day out then I won't bother lighting (or reloading) the stove.
Like Fox9988 I've been around wood heating appliances since I was born. Both my parents and grandparents had wood fired kitchen stoves and or wood stoves, we never had a problem with any of them.
Wood stoves are safe,,,, electric coffee makers made in China? Not so much.

Im home during the day now so stove runs on a few splits during the day just to keep the house warm. I mostly stay in one room, the stove room for most of the day so no need to warm up the entire house. When Im not in the stove room, im cooking.

Our wood stove is in our family room above our garage. The house is unique to say the least and the wood stove is the only heat in that room. My mom heated that room with a single propane unit at a cost of 800-1000 per year. She only ran it during the day as that room was her workshop for a seamstress business. When I bought the house and we converted the room into a family room, I replaced the propane heat with a wood stove. One the Soap Stone II stove we'd burn between 1-2 cords. A considerable savings over the propane. As the Soap Stone II aged, the amount of wood increased. Last year I replace the Soap Stone II stove with a Country Canyon. The first season with the Country Canyon required 3 1/2 cords of wood. The wood was not the driest.

As it's the only heat in the room, normally start running it 24X7 right around now.

I light the wood when I get home from work and keep it going all the way until I go to bed. I let the oil run once a night to keep the pipes under the trailer side of the house from freezing. The misses tends to the fire after she gets home from work.

    Not "Old"
Just in the "older" category. :)

Seems most here trust their wood stoves.
I'd trust the wood stove over the pellet stove in areas where you loose power now & then.
Or have a battery back up .

We have not had a furnace for well over 30 years now so if it is cold, the wood stove is throwing heat.

Right where I want to be.
Being from the city originally, I had no clue how to do ANY of this.
I tend to go full bore on new interests though, so once I got going, leaving the house with a fire in the stove wasn't too bad.
When I tried it the first time, I actually turned around after a mile or so to make sure I'd shut the dang door.:headbang::fire:
