This is at my buddies house that I trimmed a couple branches off for him before the ice hits. Not for sure what this tree is, looks like it wood have decent wood.
After you say that, I looked up ash. It does resemble ash in the wood and leaf department. But the bark is throwing me. Because all the ash that I've picked up here the area, dont have that configuration. Must be a different variatity of ash than I'm use to.
looks like white to me, but that's all I've ever seen. for what it's worth, the Bark looks spot on to me.
What kinda of ash is this then? This the type that I'm use to seeing. They just look different, maybe just the age....
It appears to have the "Ash pinhole" but yeah, the bark is a little different from the White I see here. Leaves look like some kind of Ash. Could possibly be Green Ash. "Bark: Gray, furrowed into scaly ridges, reddish inner bark." And the range of Green includes your area. Not as much heat as White...closer to Black Cherry. Second set of picks looks more like our White Ash bark.
