Amish Feed Gravity Stove? As far as I know there's only one approved by EPA and UL listed which is the wiseway stove.

I don't understand we have A LOT of Amish around us and they burn coal?? How did this ebay guy get this stove past the UL ratings and since when is 12 hrs on 30lbs good? And how did he get the Amish to use it? I use about 20lbs in our el cheapo stove in 14 hrs on medium the last few days.... I'm not even using a bag a day after the math is done.

Maybe it's just me but this seems to good to be true...

I'm about ready to email them and ask for the dealer network cuz I can't even find his website lol..

It got to about 20 last night and I woke up to 68.5 on just below half on the stove. Good feeling.... My buddy sent me this link and asked if he should buy it I said NO!

I would like to follow this and. See what becomes of this stove. My stove has multiple safety controls built in to shut it down when conditions are not right. I would question what this stove can offer to prevent it from becoming a run away stove. I'll run the geni if I have a power outage and keep the safety and covienence of my Harman.

Pete, That is a comfortable temp. My wife keeps our sitting area 76-82. Boxer shorts is the all I can tolerate.
To top it off, her chair is about 8 ft from the stove. Mine is further away. Plus I have a fan blowing on me.

It's not bad for me but she's always cold below 70 because of here thyroid issues. It's actually why I finally got a pellet stove too. Ideal for here is 75 but Im running around naked at that temp.....

It just the nature of us all. My daughters call on their cell phone just before the arrive to make sure I have a chance to get some pants on. The UPS driver is a guy. Nothing will impress them. I used to visit patients in their homes. Boxers was the most popular clothing I would find most men dressed. Even had a few that were know to be "naturalist". It didn't impress me at all, one way or another.

I checked this out on Breckwells website. Below is a quote from them.

The Monticello is our new gravity feed pellet stove that requires no electricity to operate. It features a bay front viewing glass with air wash system.

I'm curious how they get the air wash system to work without electricity.?????:loco:

This seller has been know to push the BS. Always seems to have a sales angle and usually all are over priced. Amish have nothing to do with this. The stove is very similar to an old coal stocker design is about it!!

Natural draft. As the heat rises up and out the vent. It pulls air through the stove. A gap on the door will draw air over/across the glass.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with this issue. Earlier this week, when the temps were probably in the 50's, my wife fired up the pellet stove. It was 74* upstairs. I can't sleep at that temperature. I had to open the window.

Once the kids move out of the house, I'll join the ranks of the boxer wearers. :D

I wonder if by Amish he means the fact that it doesnt require electricity to run, thus being "Amish" style. Just wondering. LOL.

It says the Amish in Pa use it as his selling point.
