If I had the time I would do it. When I get home I'll probably be doing something similar with a pile of stuff.
Not even close. I posted up a while back that I had found a bunch of NOS cylinders and asked if there was interest in any. Was told to make a list of part numbers and post them, so I did. They aren't mine directly, but belong to the business I partnered with. It is the business I am logging with, they also do small engine work. I'm just helping clean up "junk", I have zero financial involvement in it. I don't think its crazy to ask those interested to do a bit of legwork. Lookup the prices of a cylinder or two, that's not hard. It would take me a full day to do that for all the ones I listed! Correct I don't have much time. My days generally go from about 8AM to 9PM. If I'm not sleeping I'm almost always making firewood in some fashion. Its 3AM right now, I don't sleep well because of some injuries from when I was in the Air Force so I'm wide awake and hurting pretty bad. I get on here in the AM while waiting for my truck to warm up, while in bathroom break, or when I can't sleep... It helps my mind think of something else but pain. In any case they are in a box and will get mailed out soon.
Nate, Can't say enough about your work ethic. If more guys were like you this country could be great once again. I know exactly what you mean about being in pain and not sleeping. Been trying to make myself go to the chiropractor for years but just haven't done it. Just keep dealing with it. I'm sure you know what I mean when I say I'm only suicidal in the morning. Great thing your doing with the parts. you gotta remember that chainsaw addiction makes ordinarily sensible men act a little crazy. They don't mean it they just can't help it. Hats off to you for your legwork, and be safe out there! RJ
I wish the Doc would understand. He thinks I'm exaggerating when I say I have considered cutting off a finger so my back would feel better. He tells me I shouldn't be working. Yeah cause that disability check goes REAL far. It covers about 1/2 of the house payment. Haha! Not to mention I'd go crazy in days with not working. I love what I do and it keeps me sane. Very easy for me to put in 100hrs a week and not notice. I actually had a dream about the AF days and it reminded me how nice it is now. The politics, azz kissing, and good ol boy club was never something I wanted to be part of so I was a "nobody".
One of my co-workers used to call me "Mr roboto" because of all the hours I put in. Nate, you take that to a whole new level. I never got in with the brown nosers either just never had the stomach for it. Thank you for your service and remember it's us hard working "nobodies" that keep this world afloat. I can't sit still long either I'd just get in trouble anyway. Keep on keepin on brother.
Well it's the name of the game being an owner/operator/truck driver/forester/logger/mechanic/fabricator/welder/secretary/boss/whatever else! If I don't put in the time, stuff doesn't get done. If stuff doesn't get done, I don't make any money. If I don't make money the bills pile up. If the bills pile up, the lights get turned off and I'm living on the curb in a beat up cardboard box stinking of cheap whiskey, dumpster food and poo.
Nate, thanks for the help, In another thread you mentioned your shop has some bigger saws that were not being used/for sale possibly. If you are feeling stressed might you pass us along a phone number and shop name? Id be interested if they are available. thanks
746-3030 but Russ isn't up to speed on mail order and stuff like that, he is about 75 yrs old and doesn't walk around so well.
Thanks, Ill try not to bother him too much, Im not in a hurry as all, so it takes as long as it takes.
That's just some of the stuff ouside took the pics for the scrap metal man. Have several outbuilding full of parts and the shop too, plus a showroom.
Good on you Nate for helping get things straightened out. Isn't it crazy what accumulates over the years? Gives truth to the phrase "one man's trash is another man's treasure" Looks like a grubbers paradise Also, I don't think you can go wrong with Clint, pretty sure he has the cattle to go with the big hat
