Trail Wood

After I was done with the trail work today I headed to the areas that I left firewood, the first area was in the Ravine (pic 0312) about seven rounds of Sugar Maple (forgot the pic) then it was off to one of the new trails I cleared for some smaller Maple (pic 0313) an the last was the dead Elm (pic 0314) I remember certified106 cutting something like this, when looking at the pic I notched it on the right side.

Pic 0316 is the stump.

 

Sure was Sav, it was a real nice day in the woods. I better get my arse stacking or we'll have a big mess when the snow comes.

I'll get the Elm s/s so we can use it for next year during the shoulder season. Another week of trail clearing then it's back to getting wood or stacking.

The stump removal is hard on both the saws and the chains, I've been cleaning the saws and filing the chains after every stump, time for some grinder action.

 

I always like seeing how close to the ground I can get a stump when flush cutting it

 

Zap, did you guys get any of this weather from the last Nor'east system?

 

Nothing but some winds, it was a very nice day for what I did.

 

A few more stumps this week then it's off above the Brook to clear that trail which has a few stumps with a big old rotten Hemlock down, I promised the wife that this would be done, I'm thinking it's a two day job at the most.
