Just think that if you get exercise, eat plenty of fruits and vegies, go light on red meat, you'll likely make it to 90+. That should be enough to drive a guy to munching on a steer and guzzling booze.

Took a truckload of cardboard that has been accumulating for a while to the recycling center this morning. Got back home, cut the grass/chopped up leaves for I hope the last time this year. Changed the oil in the snowblower, greased everything that needed to be greased and got it started up. Started on the second pull, so now Mother Nature can send whatever white chit this way that she sees fit to send.

I dumpster dove for plastic at the store where I get my pellets when I went to get a refill for my grease gun. Folks there that buy a skid of pellets and break it down take the wrap off and toss it. I found last year that the plastic that covers the pellets works OK for top covering my wood pile. When the wind shreds the plastic, I'm not out any money. There was a waterlogged bag of pellets in there. Yep, I took it home. Got about 25 pounds of good stuff out of there and tossed the rest in the field. That'll hold me over for a half day or so. Now it's beer thirty.

Well I am a bear, do you think that would have something to do with it?

I'm several hundred feet off the road (those poor kiddies just can't possibly walk that far or so they think) and it is hard to see the house from the road except in winter even if it was well lit (rarely is, I don't need lights out there, makes it hard to see the animals).

um...yea.....that's it! just Halloween visits! I prefer it, actually. If someone is willing to go the extra mile to find me, it must be pretty important, or interesting, at least. I got candy as well, but I have never had a trick-or-treater....I end up eating it as well.....cant let it go to waste, right?

well, as for whats up today, I am actually sitting here at work, prior to opening the front door...doing some paperwork and watching all the folks who forgot to set their clocks back leave and go for a coffee, since we aren't open yet.......pellet rush with all the colder weather we be getting now.

I'm pretty sure its the 1600 foot drive that keeps em away from here. Its a little up hill to.

Me standing in the door way dressed as Lurch might have something to do with it too.

Not much going on today. We spend most of yesterday on the road to see my Dad in Revere and did nit get back until mid evening. Today its a good day to fire the stove and stay out of the cold and wind. No movies rented so may catch up on recorded shows or check out Netflix until the Pats game

I'm in farm country. Guess nobody wants to wander around in the dark and get lost in an apple orchard.

Just three miles down the road the houses are stacked next to each other like cordwood. They can hit 20 or 30 houses there in the time it would take to hit four where I am.

OK sums it up....most of us at FHC are also off the beaten track and just like LW, that's the way I like it. Cant believe my first 30 or so years were in homes 25 feet apart from each other. Ugh........
