Can you take the stove outlet off and slide it back with the pipe attached? I looked at the Progress manual and it looks like it is only two bolts. It isn't clear where they are so I don't know if they are accessible with the pipe attached or if the collar will slide out.

Do you mean so I can take it apart without having to detach the elbows and telescoping piece? If so, the problem getting it apart is not a forward/backward thing, you have to shorten the pipe in order to get it up and out of the collar, and then down and under the male side of the ceiling box.
Machria are you sure that pipe clamp I posted wouldn't work for you? That is an inexpensive and easy to install piece.. Just place the clamp part towards the back and you can't see it.. Ray
I have a different connector at the chimney but I think I would have enough play once the pipe-chimney fasteners are taken off to slide the bottom back/out then it would fall right down.
Yes, that is definitely going to work. Already ordered one. But I'm still looking for the rest of the pipe, 28" long in total (+ 6" clamp = 34"), and a 4 3/4" offset. I'm wondering if two 45 degree elbows put together in reverse would be close to 4 3/4" offset ?
Ok, Rockford said they can't make the pipe I want. I got a quote from eFireplaceStore as a solution, does this sound like it will work? Why do I need the 1st item, "Appliance Adapter" ? Dura-Black Welded Steel Stovepipe to Appliance Adaptor - 6-Inch Diameter - 6DBK-AD They said: "you should be able to use a stove adapter, a pair of 45 degree elbows (equaling 4 1/2" of offset, pretty close to your 4 3/4") , a 12 inch length of pipe, and an adjustable slip connector. The slip connector will allow you to remove the run easily for cleaning. " Quoted at $139.00, seems reasonable to me, no??
I don't know why you would need an adapter unless its double wall pipe? I think I would just buy the two 45's, and the adjustable pipe.
Am I missing something? As Yopperdave said, if you just have 2 offsets instead of 4 , you accomplish the same thing. or just flip the upper one 180 degrees. ??????
The problem was, the 45's we originally tried, went further than 4 3/4" out when put together that way. So they didn't work, that's why we ended up with the 2 adjustable 90's, adjusted only 1/2 way, it ended up fitting better. BUT, efireplace store says they have 45's they tried putting together like this for me, and it came out to 4 1/2" of offset, which is close enough! Having said that, my chimney guy found a local company that will make exactly what I need, in stainless, call custom. I ordered it this morning, will see how it comes out....
Finished product. Picked it up yesterday, installed it, and fire up first fire of the season this morning. So far so good. Went together with ease, looks like it will come right apart via the clamps on the back of the custom 6" collar they made with hose clamps welded on. Interesting idea... No more elbows, no more adjustable slip pipe to have to try and slide...
Alright machria! Looks great. Now, for Pete's sake, lets get some wood chips/debris on the floor around that stove and make it look like it's supposed to!
