Does anyone else here have a garden where you grow giant fruits, vegetables, gourds, etc.? The pumpkins didn't turn out well for me this year, but I had a personal best with a 130-pound Carolina Cross watermelon. I'll be purchasing better seeds for 2015, and trying much harder overall. 130Snyder2014.jpg

    That's a huge ham there:thumbs:
I grew one large pumpkin few years ago, the vine took off into the woods and the pumpkin grew suspended in a maple tree, haven't had a bunch of success since.
I'm trying to build terrace boxes on the powerline cut but haven't had any pumpkins or squash set in two years of trying

In the world of giant watermelon growing, anything under 200 pounds is not impressive. Maybe I can get there next year!

The big pumpkin this year at the pumpkin fest tipped the scales at 2000lbs. Crazy!

There is little or no competition with pumpkins here in Oklahoma, so my goal for 2015 is to beat the state record of 880 pounds.
