do any manufactures still make bow bars? my uncle has been in more than a few wrecks with his patrol cars and now has bad back issues. he has run them years ago and says a bow bar would be easier for him. i would help him cut and split if he didnt live 3 hours away...
Safety concerns have driven bow saws from the market plus pulp is now mechanically harvested in many areas. New bows still pop up from time to time. If you are running a large bow (i.e. a non clearing bow) you will need a decent size saw, preferably 65 cc's or more. A bow robs a saw of power, plus you need a good oiler. At a minimum you will need to find a bow clutch cover or modify one to accommodate the rise of the bow as it leaves the saw. Some saws (such as the 245 Poulan) utilized a different front handlebar when equipped with a bow.
Up till at least a few years ago I found them at baileys online. Not sure if they still have them today?
