Due to the ash borer, I'm getting a lot of these trees this summer. However, it's not all perfect. Since I'm helping a buddy who does this for a side job, we have to chip all the branches. And anyone whose dealt with the dead ash knows that tree shoots out little branches as it dies, so there is a lot of clean-up work. Not complaining, but the ash trees are way more work than a maple or an oak in terms of waste. The box truck is half full from 4 smallish trees which represents the whole load. We are using a badger commercial chipper, so the work does go pretty fast.

Here's a load of maple that I picked up on Friday cut back in August. I used my buddy's truck to take it home. I like Silver Maple due to ease of splitting and quick seasoning.

That's a picture of the truck owner. I'm many years younger. That wood was laying in rounds for almost 3 months. Just haven't had a chance to get it. Wish it was split and stacked 3 months ago.
