So one of my mothers friends got divorced and is now moving out of state. Mom told me her friend had "some" firewood she wanted to get rid of. I asked how much and price. (I don't buy cut and split wood, on occasion I'll buy a load or two of logs. I have my own wood lot.) Mom tells me there's 4 face and its kiln dried. Knowing moms friend is moving and just wants some quick cash, I offered $100. So this morning the boy and I went to pick it up.

Never in my life have I paid for wood.
I may have to think real hard about that one for $100 kiln dried.
    Good score.

That is a pretty good price to take a kiln dried stash off someone's hands

Good deal! I ran into a similar deal when I had my stove installed. A friends dad switched to pellet stove a few years back and had 2 cords ash and oak. Money well spent. Wood was primo!

Sounds like a good deal on your part. Wonder what the moisture content is on those splits?

    Love the truck :smoke:

Good deal, nice to have a dump. I scored one year, 4 cords a 3 year seasoned oak for $75/cord, had to haul it with a Tacoma and an F150, took 5 trips.

The F-350 dump sure hauls wood much better than my 3/4 ton short box Chevy!

I'd be glad to check the moisture content if someone wants to donate me a meter!
