Us too. Lately it's been 45 in the am, and up to 85 in the afternoon. A whole year worth of seasons in a day

Just curious of course, but what are you doing working up firewood in SC? That's not just an ignorant damm-Yankee question. You planning on exporting it up to the frozen North maybe? I thought all you had to do down there was to close the windows.
I dont know about that. I keep a fire burning from about mid november to about april. We had back to back nights with a low less that 10f last year. My has has no insulation other than r19 ceiling. I have to run my 3.5cuft cat stove about wide open to keep 1500sqft of my 2500 Sqft reasonable. I burned about 2.5 cords last year so I do use wood. Our day temps are in the 40-50s avg winter temps I guess with colder or hotter possible and night lows most winter into the 20-30s with obvious colder n hotter nights. People do burn wood for heat here.
I never understood the idea that it doesn't get cold down south. We'll see sub 20 temps and regular temps in the 20-40s in winter. Certainly cold enough to need heat
I'm shivering just thinking about those 20 degree nights..lol.. I think the worst I saw was 10 below on my way to work last year and that's cold for this area of Pa where we generally get DC type weather. Time to start treating my diesel fuel over the next few weeks.. Just busting your chops a little man. The worst winter driving I've ever had was always down south where the municipalities and states aren't equipped for what they get.
We were 8f one mourning last year. The next day I think it was 10-12f and then 10-12 the next mourn. 2 years ago we had like 3 days that we did not get above freezing . I know its nothing like most here get but I promise you , that you would want heat too in my house. Before I installed the stove when it got into the 20s my heat pump ran non stop for like 8 hours to keep it 63-65 in house.
