    It's called "find the ring".

Yep you guessed it. Im pretty sure i tossed my wedding band in that pile last night. I thought that it fit a little loose and i confirmed my thoughts! Last time i remember having it on i was tossing splits into that pile (no gloves) and after a few splinters i threw on some gloves. An hr or so later, off come the gloves and no band. CRAP! I figured i'd lose or get it snagged while working after a few months, not 3 weeks. Don't worry guys, im more upset than she is lol

Reminds me of a game I played recently-- find the glasses of the husband of the lady giving you a near load of mulberry. He lost them in the brush pile at the tree dump.

My cutting partner loses either his cell phone or his pager at least once a month while loading brush in the trailer.....thankfully, a quick phone call from my cell phone usually finds the device.

You should've seen how pizzed off I was when I left my 40' ladder at the compost site OVERNIGHT a couple of weeks ago, we took it off of the trailer to unload the branches and brush and never put it back on the trailer!!.....didn't realize I forgot it until I was already home and in bed!!

Called up there the next morning and Bub (the guy who runs the place) said "yep, it's still laying here", he put in in the garage for me til I could get up mid week.......

Piney, I hope you find the ring. Know anyone with a metal detector? they work splendidly for things like that ring!

You, my friend, are in DEEP chite. .......LOL Seriously though, I was wearing mine when I first got married. Was decending a steel ladder on a tower. Lost my footing on the wet steel rungs and began a pants loading fall. Grabbed the rail, and while sliding down, my ring caught on a piece of the hand rail and about ripped my finger off. Wife understood after that and it has been sleeping in the jewelry box for the last 39 years.

I wore my wedding ring the day of my wedding. After that day it has sat on my dresser for the last 8 years. I am not a jewelry person, I don't even like wearing a watch.
Lucky for me the wife doesn't mind.
Everyone who truly knows me, especially the one that it matters to the most, knows I'm not going anywhere and knows I'm coming home to her every night.
That being said, I completely understand and respect the symbolism in the ring that some people hold dear to them.
    I hope you find yours.

I didn't wear my wedding ring for the 10 years I worked for the Harley dealer, I never knew when I would be using the lathe in the shop to turn something down... Better to keep my finger I thought..

I haven't worn my wedding ring in years either, guys. Not out of disrespect for my wife, either. But I've always either been welding, building things, doing masonry, cutting trees and I am also an ELECTRICIAN by trade around high voltage, so wearing a ring or a watch is a "NO-NO". My wedding ring doesn't even fit me anymore, it has weld spalds all over it too. I thought about getting a tattoo of a ring on my ring finger and putting my wife's name on it, because I am proud to be married to her and I know she really wishes I could wear it......

Then you have my wife, who has NEVER taken her wedding ring off since the day I put it on her finger over 16 years ago.......not even once.
    She's a sentimental gal.....

I dropped mine in a trash can twice while filling up the truck in the winter, sink I don't know how many times, and once in a parking lot getting keys out. Now it stays at home all the time.

I hardly ever wear mine. Usually only when I'm travelling for work or when we go out together. I don't mind wearing it, but I'm not a jewelry guy...don't wear a watch either.

I haven't worn my wedding band since about 6months after I got married. My wife understand my hesitation though since I was sitting down my tool bag and had a screwdriver slip up through my ring which just about ripped my finger off.

Good luck finding that thing I would seriously grab a metal detector and see if you can locate it in the pile!

Last year the wife took Bear to the Vets for his usual spring check up and shots. While he was out in the dirt and gravel parking lot having a field day making his mark, sniffing his brains out, he started pawing the dirt and she saw him uncover something shiny. She went over and picked up a diamond ring. When she went into the waiting room she gave the ring to the vet tech sitting @ the counter explaining that Bear had just found it out in the parking lot. The girl started into a happy fit. Turns out the winter before she went out after work and was brushing snow off her car. Apparently the ring was loose fitting and somehow it flew off and landed in the snowy lot. She said she and her husband spent most of the evening trying to find it with no luck. Next morning when she came in, the contractor had plowed the lot. Said she then really resolved that it was lost forever. Needless to say Bear got the VIP treatment. So far he has recovered the ring and two lost cellphones. The boy has a good nose, thats or sure.

Last year, I was out working on some firewood with my gloves on (I do that a lot), and didn't realize my ring had come off inside the glove.
Took me almost 2 hours to figure it out.
Wife and I had our rings resized early this year, and now it only comes off if I really make an effort.

I lost mine too, really nice one with a couple modest diamonds in it, swimming in the ocean a few weeks after being married. As folks have said , borrow or buy a metal detector, basic ones are pretty cheap and you can have a lot of other fun with it finding all those other rings the rest of the world has lost!

I've lost mine more than once and it usually turns back up. I leave it off quite often while working. 240V in the back of some of the equipment I work on is enough to make me put it in my pocket.
