    Looks good! What are you thoughts on the transfer tunnel volume, hard to tell from the pics if it's comparable to a traditional quad or bigger?

    Great saw and a great write up from a great guy. Hate that this is under these conditions though.

    Howmany 661s have you done? I remember that first post on AS where you got one to do a year or better ago.

    Hope this one finds a good home :)

    It seems to be under sized at first glance........but with the super tight case volume, I can see it being well thought out. I'd say the transfer velocity is very high.

    I've ported three so far.

    OK so the plan is to test run the saw using an external fuel supply. No oil or fuel will be put in this saw until the new owner fuels it up the first time.

    It will be a new unfueled Mastermind ported saw. [​IMG]

    I've ported a few of my own saws......then let them sit unfueled for months.

    But for a saw that is for someone else, this is the first time I've not tested in wood.

    I have no doubts that it will tune itself like it should and be just fine.

    I really like the idea of the new owner being to first one to add fluids.

    Yea I guess its relly not the best thing for a custom built saw not to be run in wood before sent.

    As a buyer I like the idea that you have run my saw in a test cut and it passes your quality standards.

    But I can see it also from the buyer being the first to fuel a saw is a good thing too

    From a shipping standpoint, an external fuel/oil tank is an excellent idea, especially on a new saw. Minimizes any odors that might escape the package. Of course, running the saw will still result in some wood chips getting on/underthings but it is what it is.

    I for one would want Randy to run the saw (any saw I sent, not just this one) to ensure its up to his standards. Regardless of it being mtronic or new. The only exception being perhaps a NOS shelf queen that the owner does not intend to run.
