My new Chainsaw!!

    I finally did it. Something I never thought I would do. Not many people own an MS 880 or 3120XP, but I have been wanting one for a Long @zz time!!




    So I finally broke down today and..........










    Bought a 45cc MONSTER!! It's a Blue Max 45cc w/20" bar. I picked it up for $79.99. Was the last one they had. Came with a file, screwdriver, manual, bar cover, bar , and chain.

    I started it today. Although shortly, it runs pretty good. I plan on doing some simple things to it, then bringing it to Swags GTG. :)

    It's not an 880 or a 3120? But it was only $80! Heck, I have Bars that cost more than that :) And I still want an 880 or 3120!! Lol:rofl: :lol:

    Man I don't own a blue saw now I am jealous. Lol
    The price is pretty crazy when you consider you bought a running saw for $80 brand new.
    I will be curious to see how it holds up over time. Congrats

    Me too... Thats why I am gonna mod it, and run the snot out of it.

    I plan on destroying it at the GTG!! So be there and see :)

    Blue Max?? I think. Not entirely sure of the Actual Original Manufacturer.

    I'm gonna tear it down this weekend and have a peak. Based on the choke, throttle lock, and on/off switch? I haven't seen anything close to it. Other than the 24" 62cc saw that Ironpany posted (Hampyon 6200 or something like that?) That saw has a lot of the same characteristics...

    I assume Chinese. But we think its on par with what's available on eBay. The 52cc specials?

    Brother bart said he had one that he gernaded pretty quick. I think he has one now that he has used on and off for a few years now though.

    I think this chainsaw accessory would compliment the new saw quite nicely. Very color coordinated and all that.

    In many of these Chinese saw threads that I have read, it seems as if everything BUT the engine gives up when the saw is put to serious use. I might need one these things too. :D

    Is that one of those "truckload" tool sales or HF? Newer seen a saw at HF? How many CC? And I assume its a refurb? And.. is Iaa husky bar mount?

    Gotta have a Chicom Race!! We'll do it on 15"x15" wood.

    I told Swags what I was bringin to the GTG for the saw competitions. My neighbors have a Sawmill (Amish), and I am going to buy as many 5"x5"x10' Boards as I can. For the 70cc class, we'll ratchet strap 5 wide x 5 tall (25" x 25" block) and cut cookies from it. Then we can do 3 x 3 for the small saws (15" x 15"). This will keep everything "Fair" in any "Timed Cuts". Rather than a log that may get bigger, smaller, etc.

    I can buy a few different sizes if needed. Like 6" x 6" boards. So a 20" bar could have an 18" chunk, rather than a 15" if I only got 5"x5".

    I have a bunch of other ideas too.

    I'm excited!!!

    I'm bringing my two man "misery whips"......I gotta get them sharpened and cleaned up. We'll do some team races with them.......if I can whip myself into shape by May!!

    when those saws are sharp, they cut pretty fast!
