Neighbor woman across the street from me was getting their mail as I was stacking the mulberry scrounge I got yesterday. She asked me......................."Don't you have enough wood??'' My reply, "That's kind of a personal question, don't you think?" She didn't get it until she took about 5 steps back toward their house!!!!
This is a great thread! I get that all too often, "I think you have enough wood now don't you think" "Jeeze do you have enough wood?!?!" And my response is usually, well frankly, no, I don't! No one understands that it takes 2 years to have good efficient firewood and everything that goes along with burning wet wood. They must think you're supposed to cut wood in October every year and just start burning it. They are the crazy ones
Great looking stacks. Is that gravel you put down? I only have about 7 cords dry and gonna get about another 4 cords in a few weeks but I always get are u gonna build a house with all that wood and I counter how much did you pay the oil man last year $4200 wow I only paid $700 lmao
Have seen it... but that's OK. I could watch that once a day and never get tired of it. Really funny stuff. Hope it shows up here a lot...
Fire wood in any stage - never enough- money in those fibrous stacks. Good for cash, barter, utilities at bay, fencing, & last but not least always can answer yes to playing with your wood.
A couple weeks ago on a weekend morning I was out in "woodland" splitting away. Now, Woodland has roughly 25 cords stacked, about 3 cords in a couple of split piles waiting to be stacked and about 1/2 cord more of rounds waiting to be processed. After my splitting session I was walking back to the garage when an older female friend of my neighbors opened the slider on her deck and yelled out "hey, John, do you sell your wood" ..... to which I replied "thats a personal question, only for the right price and the prettiest ladies".
My stack is only six cord, but that's substantial for Oklahoma. This Saturday, we're hosting a (unrelated) bonfire, and expecting 60+ people to attend. Most of them live in the city, and never use firewood. I'm already expecting a plethora of comments, especially since I've never had this much wood stacked at one time, until now.
Correction.........................They've never "SEEN" that much wood stacked at one time!!! What's a "plethora"???
And just imagine how much wood he'd have cut/stashed if he'd used a REAL Mac instead of one of those new plastic Chinese knockoffs.......
Welp... if yer gonna have special adult beverages, be sure to clean out a 2 stroke oil container, fill er up... walk around and smile a lot... They ain't nuthin that says firewood hoarder quite like it...
