    Nice looking wood !

    I think the knotty , twisted , curved wood had a tighter grain & higher BTU :)
    Always seems heavier to me.

    Always has good airspace between pieces, dries faster too :)

    Headed out to split some more,
    no more drawing lines, time to split some wood LOL :)

    I remember growing up that my great grandfather always said knots burned better and hotter. I agree twists and knots and curves seem more dense.

    Lot of the wood here gets I'm told "wind shake" which makes it useless for lumber and tough to split for firewood.

    Not sure if that's a real thing?
