Building a firewood processor out of a wood splitter

Ahh.. glad you liked the video. Did you need a barf bucket from motion sickness lol. I got a few parts on order so I can mount my phone to a tripod and make better vids. But that wont be till next spring.

I know a bunch of stuff Id do different if I was building from the ground up for resale. Not only would it make the machine function better, but would shave some costs.

I briefly considered making it for sale after some local individuals said I should consider it, but in order to cover my labour and costs, Id have to get close to $9k for it, which is what Wallenstein wants for theirs. I dont think there is that much of a market for a serious homeowner grade firewood processor

 

I'm not sure you could compete with a Wallenstein unless you stayed in a small market, and even in a smaller market I'm not sure you could produce enough to make enough of a profit. Marketing, material costs, your labor...theres a lot to consider. I'm not saying you couldn't do it, I'm just saying it would take a lot of undertaking as a startup.
