Dead standing locust

    Anybody here burn them right off the stump or stack for a year? I have done both

    I've gone from standing dead to stove in the same day on locust. They were girdled though.

    I've seen a lot of it lately, if you've noticed my threads...:whistle: :D I tested a lot of it on the MM. The tree I grabbed yesterday read low 20s on the fresh cut ends. In the rain. But that was almost completely suspended off the ground, bark falling off.

    Some softer stuff, like maple, will rot from the top down if it's broken up top. Not BL - just gets drier.:smoke:

    I burnt a lot of dead standing right away in the old stove but as far ahead as I am now pretty doubtful that I will in this stove.
