Sold my 026 and got this. It woke up alot with the muffler mods and a sharp chain with rakers lowered alil
Thanks Mike. Pretty sure I have it opened plenty good but its always nice to be able to take a front cover off and check everything out ever so often
Nice saw buddy!! Probably sounds great!! Is that weight that you posted fully loaded (oil and fuel)? Or dry with just a bar? What chain set up are you gonna run? Sticking with Picco? If you do? I know a guy who may be able to help you out? lol
Sounds really good! Im sticking with the 3/8 picco but I ordered a Stihl 18" bar. I dont like the feel of the small 16"!! Feels like theres nothing there! I had 2 loops of ps made up that will work on the 18" stihl bar and got a 7 and 8 pin picco to try. Probably gonna square file the picco out
13 lbs at battle weight is definitely a great advantage that saw has. Although, the single bar stud/nut I was never a fan of. But I have not heard any complaints. As long as it's tight, it should be fine. I just like back up devices. I like back up saws, back up heating devices, etc.. Looking forward to how you like it with square filed picco. As for the 8 pin rim? I would probably stick with 7 for the torque. It takes a lot of saw to make an 8 pin even necessary. A lot of saw. Even on my 460 (mean ported monster), in wood that's 20" and over, a 7 pin is king. I've done back to back testing and the faster chain speed of the 8 doesn't make up for the torque gain with the 7.
The 241 is a 6 pin spur sprocket stock. It could easily handle a 7 pin for limbing duty. Nice saw Kg461. One of my favorites!
Nice saw Kg, I just picked up it's twin Thursday, hope to feed it something today before I ware it out admiring it
I keep my saws looking good and in top shape. I just cut firewood with them for home and see no sense in throwing them down or in the back of my truck to roll around. I like to admire them practically lookin new everytime I open my shop!! Lol! I may would feel differently if I made a living with them and rotated them pretty often?
