36 and a stiff NW wind. Just stirred Betty up and threw in a chunk of maple. A pleasant 73 in here...........About to upload sour dough French toast and sausage then split some oak a little later.
After a week of warmer weather, it looks like tonight will be down to 32 (with a high of 50 today) -so back to the red maple tonight or tomorrow AM at the latest. Can't wait to fire up!
Burned up a little pine last night . 31 this morning put in a mix ,red maple , pine, elm, ash and some shag hickory bark strips to got it all going. That hickory bark on top got the pipe n stove hot really quick
Wow, snowing already. It'd be weird to live somewhere where snow was a regular occasion. It's like a state holiday when we get it down here
It's about 50 out and I was able to get a lot of outdoor chores done. We have our first frost warning tonight which is early for this area of Pa. Have some ash, maple, and some mystery wood going that may be oak. The cats approve.
It's about 50 here also (I think the high was 53*). I have 2 large hardwood splits cooking in the I3100 and the living room is 76*. I'll be doing my 1st over night burn this season tonight since the temps are supposed to dip down to the mid-30s.
Yeah I'm not too far from you climate wise. I'm down in franklin county right on the Maryland line. Normally pretty mild here for a Pennsylvania address..
Down to 25º on the back porch this morning. A little cooler than I was expecting. Ash and Pine burning away in the boiler.
I like how your hearth extends out a bit further than most, it looks like a nice working area. The 4 leggeds like it too
It was 45 out today so we're still burning the shoulder season wood (pine & hemlock) 74 upstairs and the basement is 78.
