I have been looking into doing firewood bundles so I contacted several companies building bundlers. Twister Bundler... http://www.twister-industries.com/ I emailed with a short description of what I do, what I was looking for and my contact info. Even gave my web address. Didn't give my street address, but town, state and zip code... plenty for figuring a rough quote I thought? I had put my phone # and it's clearly listed on my website in several places too. His email back.... wow! "Hi Nate Nice website but it dose not have an address or phone number, I can ship to Alaska for $2,000,000.00 I can ship to a town in Alaska for nearly $1,999.500.00 less. Wrappers list from $400.00 to$2,700.00 call me and we can find which machine will best fit wour needs and buisness groth plans. Then I will give you a real quote. Chuck / Twister 612-390-9620"
Yeah buddy sounds like a bit of a duck.. Watching his vids he seems like a pretty low budget operation..
He left me a voicemail basically saying he was being an azzhole because he had to go "fishing" for info. I'm sure everyone with 1/2 a brain knows that being an azzhole to a potential customer usually doesn't work out well. And not to mention, proofreading helps out too. At this point I wouldn't consider using his product unless he gave it to me for free. Not sure why it would be so hard to give a price list for the products he carries and mention something about needing an exact address to do a shipping quote.
He must not want business to much then if replies with answers like that. At least you found how his nature is, and probably how he runs his business. Sad... So Sad...
Ended up going with a company called Wood Beaver. About $2300 out the door with extra pans, handles for the bundles, plastic, and shipping. They even are covering $200 of the shipping. Was funny, we were 4 or 5 guys staring the the video when a customer walked in... kinda got the WTH are you guys doing look.. haha... http://woodbeaver.net/wood-beaver-firewood-bundler/ Pretty sure NO work would ever get done if the operator came down to help us out!
Is the link not loading up? We are going to be pushing bundles pretty hard. At $5/ea that makes for $640 a cord, about 2.5x the $$ of bulk wood. Great at campgrounds, gas stations, etc. We plan to do 1 cu ft of either birch or a mix of birch/cottonwood/spruce. Also will do slab wood from the mill. Right now most bundles that are sold are just spruce... some places are near $7 a .75cu ft bundle.
