This maple fell over last spring while I was working in the yard but snagged in a Red Oak so let it be. It was on the ground after a good wind storm last week so got out there and collected it up. It's all c/s/s but too lazy to go get any more pics. Besides I took the GF up the mountain for some foliage viewing this afternoon.
I saw one boil when I first walked across the wooden bridge, I see small fingerlings in the creeks here - no where near anything but an occasional 15-20' wide pool. Survival rates in the creeks are probably low with the cottonmouth population. And no trout - temps too warm in the summer The small ponds and one of the man made fire reservoirs down the road have ample supply of lunker Large Mouth, Crappie and Brim.
I hope you print those pics. Pin them up. They will help you get through the winter. I printed some of my good ones and put them in a multi pane window sash and hung it on the windowless bathroom wall by my den. Thanks for sharing. Fall pics are hard to beat.
SaveMoney - winter is not all that hard to get through down here, not like the ones I remember in ME - and especially the last 4 I spent in Castine. Pretty place but as most MMA grads will tell you - the best view was in the rearview
Winter at MMA are not bad at all. The ocean tames them down a lot. They usually don't see any of that -20 f stuff. Don't get much of it here either for the same reason. But when we do get it, life for a lot of us older folks kind of takes a pause. We just don't go out unless we have to. Most of us stock up well and can wait it out for weeks. Hope you can find your way back up here sometime. Summers are usually very pleasant.
