Was in a garage an saw these little guys sitting in a corner and asked of they were for sale. Lady said sure and asked what they are worth to me, I honestly didn't know if they ran or not so she offered to have me check them out and send her what I feel is fair. Poulan and Mcculloch top handles, a pile of worn out chains and a Stihl 20" s bar. thistle can you tell me anything about the mcculloch?

I've got a mini mac 35 top handle so ill chime in and give my limited knowledge. Loud loud loud especially for its size. That translates to fun imo. Pia to work on from what I've read. I havent had to get into mine. It was my father's so it's a shelf queen. Yeah, I said mini mac and shelf queen. There are a gazillion of those in parts all across the world so parts are easily obtained in the form of basket case saws. This concludes my knowledge. Thistle should be in soon.
Those little 38 cc Poulans are powerful little screamers. Had one back in the day, from an NEX. Couldn't handle the noise, with muffs. Sold it.
They seemed to have decent compression from pulling on them but I got home too late last night and couldnt try them.
Sold from May 1968 to January 1974,this 2.0 cubic inch/32cc little screamer was advertised as "the world's lightest chainsaw" at 6.5 pounds & was well respected by tree surgeons/arborists who needed a very light,fast & reliable saw when climbing/descending in the canopy.Rated to pull 12" to 16" bar/chain.This first generation of "Mini Macs" was a far cry from the mostly plastic consumer models of cheaper quality later sold in the late 1980's,which unfortunately helped speed McCulloch Motors Corporation towards eventual Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in 1999..... The various model early mini macs from 1968 to mid 70's were the best,normally quite reliable.By the mid 80's the company was more concerned with the consumer/homeowner market versus the professional & farm/ranch so the engineering & quality took a back seat. But like anything else,once in a great while you get a bad one.But when its good,you are hard pressed to part with it....
I dont think id Pay $50 for all that. Maybe $40? There is several macs recently on my CL for $35-50 and they been sitting for months
I would pay 15 for the bar and chains, I would take the saws if it was the only way I could buy the bar. If I had a choice the saws would stay in her garage
Those saws are great little wall hangers for the man cave if you can't get them running. (Or just not worth the effort). They are a dime a dozen, especially the mini Mac.
That top handle Poulan could fetch like a grand on the trading post I'd say a good score, the mini Mac would go to the scrap heap.
