My old pellet burn pot in my St Croix had gotten pretty rough looking… it's burned through in one spot and really needed to be repaired or replaced. I have no problem welding up the bad spot and drilling some holes to make the repair but my welder has been out of commission for the last month. Now the good part… while my wife was doing some rearranging of some collected junk in the house she held up a chunk of welded steel and asked me if she should throw this thing away… it was a perfectly good burn pot! I had forgotten that my dealer replaced the existing burn pot when I bought the stove (used) in 2007… they gave me the old one (which looks almost new). So now I have a good burn pot in the stove… and saved an hour of fabrication or $90.00 (new burn pot)… and the stove is now burning really well again.
The good stuff… USDA #1 choice right from the local butcher. Man I don't know where I get this reputation as a cheapskate around here… must be from those FWHC drones I see everyday.
We tend not to look your way, Seeing you in your skivvies' is a bit frightening! I almost crashed the other day and my eyes still burns a lil!
We're OK now… I fixed my welder. Just in time, too as my neighbor's have ben stealing my political signs recently and I want to weld up a nice heavy "Let The Good Times Keep Rolling...iMacman for President 2016" out of 1/2" steel and bolt it to my oak tree.
BIL has stove with same/simular burn pot, love that old stove except for noise,he bought many new burn pots over the years, when his stove is on it is running wide open.He mailed/shipped 3 pots to me,I welded cheap steel and drilled, cheap repairs lasted as long as the replacement ones(probably because of his poorly inslulated house and poor burn practices).I bought him a basic 110 volt arc welder and taught him the basics,he has not bought a pot since. My 1992 integra still has original pot(big crack on high side) and I have been using a spare for about 5 years, swap them out when I do not want to shut stove down,Also spray pot with moly or graphite after cleaning, makes a big difference. But I WILL vote for IMAC!!!
